Don’t forget to change your Love Notes bookmark setting! xo

Don’t you just love the rush that comes from finding that rare bargain in a seamingly endless clothing bin? Most women would agree that the hunt is far more gratifying than the purchase. Bohemia Boutique satisfies the bargain hunter in all of us, especially us gals with a penchant for vintage. This little gem of a consignment boutique sits on the corner of N. Market and Vineyard Street in Maui’s historic Wailuku Town. Owner Maggie (pictured above) stacks pieces from 50’s Hawaiiana to sixties retro and even modern day wedding gowns. She says, “I am a slave to vintage, of course, and Hollywood Glamour is my muse!” Frilly cocktail hats and framed art adorn every spare inch of the charming space. Pop in for those last minute retro confections to complete your wedding look— you may even find the perfect dress!

You’ve waited long enough to make a statement.

_5490312.jpgTootie, here! I found these Juicy shoes at Nordie’s and they’re awsomely cool! If you are looking for cute shoes for your flower girls, check these out. I would suggest flats or high heels, but flats are most appropriate for the younger set. Speaking as a flower girl myself, I do not like little white “foofy” sandles with lace on the edges and a little velcro latch. I definitely prefer ballet flats with a little strap for the youngsters. And if your wedding is on a beach, skip the shoes altogether.

False eyelashes were once reserved for the flossy-flossy–no discerning girl would risk the chance of a lash gone astray, especially on her wedding day! Now eyelash extensions have become the new eyeliner. According to stylist Jacque Rojas, when applied by an expert, lash extensions eliminate the need for both mascara and eyeliner. She says, “My clients wake up feeling beautiful, and most of them use less makeup.” Even the sporty editors of PW give their official stamp of approval! moments.jpgOnce a couple catches a vicarious glimpse of a real wedding, they’re convinced that there is no place quite like Maui to say “I do”. Bride Sandra Birnie is a perfect case in point: “While I was looking through Pacific Rim Weddings magazine I saw a wedding that had taken place on Maui at a private waterfront estate, and I knew it was exactly what I wanted.” Still not convinced? Lets face it, those of us involved in the wedding business are serious about our note-taking. The Pacific WEDDINGS girls are forever endowed to Post-it Notes. If ever our focus begins to wane at the office, we can always count on a hot pink, heart-shaped Post-it Note to bring us back to life (that and a double Americano)! And as long as wedding designers are still meeting with their oh-so-on-it brides, we will have Post-its Specialty Notes to thank for making every (nearly impossible) dream come true- in the cutest way possible, of course.

A girl of style can spot her kind from a mile away (a click away in computer land?). When we came across Christy of Junebug Weddings, we were delighted to find that the fashionista has a serious penchant for weddings. She lends her tasteful aesthetic to unexpected floral concepts and gorgeous bridal attire. As the lifestyle editor and resident blogger, Christy claims, “I’m an absolute fanatic about wedding planning, fashion, food, shopping, creativity and beauty of all kinds.” Now who can relate to that??

Since the pineapple has long been a symbol of gracious hospitality, good cheer,
and family affection, what could be more fitting for a wedding theme? This fabulous cake was designed for Pacific WEDDINGS by Carmen Emerson-Bass of Cake Couture. Issue no. 12 contains dozens of wedding ideas celebrating the exotic, beloved fruit.

Whimsical invitations by Kinohi Designs are a fun way to announce your nuptials, but no matter what your style, you’ll find the pineapple is a popular icon for wedding stationery.

We love these Limoges-style pineapple boxes. A tiny note of aloha can be tucked inside for guests to find at their place settings.

Floral designer Debbie Hemingway created this bouquet of green cymbidium orchids and ivory roses crowned with adorable miniature pinapples.

Hiring a wedding agency to pull all these details together is a must, especially if you’re planning from a distance. The coordinators at White Orchid Wedding see things differently. Created nearly twenty years ago, White Orchid has grown to be Hawaii’s award winning wedding agency. If you’re dreaming of a Maui wedding, look no further.

A Lasting Impression
